Shipping by Rules for VirtueMart

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Plugin development ceased, all plugins made available freely (GPL)

With great sadness we have to announce that we are ceasing development of all our VirtueMart, WooCommerce and Joomla plugins. Effective immediately, all our plugins -- even those that were paid downloads -- are made available for free from our homepage (GPL license still applies), but we cannot and will not provide any support anymore.

It has been a great pleasure to be part of the thriving development communities of VirtueMart as well as WooCommerce. However, during the last year it became painstakingly clear that in addition to a full-time job, a young family and several other time-consuming hobbies at professional level (like being a professional singer) the plugin development and the support that it requires is not sustainable and is taking its toll. It has been an honor, but it is now time to say good bye!

Move shipping rules from one site to another 10 Apr 2016 22:32 #1

Hi,

I am moving my site, from VM2.5 to 3.5.1 using a new folder at my host.
I am installing everything new. When it all works I will delete the old site.
Is there a way to copy all my shipping settings or do I have to redo everything?

Dear cccc,
AFAIK, there is no standard way in VirtueMart to migrate to a different site.
The shipping settings are stored in the database, so it should be possible to copy the database entry for the shipping method over. This has to be done in the database, so it requires some technical skills.

There exist also some migrators that help in migrating Joomla/VM from one host to another. I have no idea how well they work.

Best regards,
Reinhold
