IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Plugin development ceased, all plugins made available freely (GPL)

With great sadness we have to announce that we are ceasing development of all our VirtueMart, WooCommerce and Joomla plugins. Effective immediately, all our plugins -- even those that were paid downloads -- are made available for free from our homepage (GPL license still applies), but we cannot and will not provide any support anymore.

It has been a great pleasure to be part of the thriving development communities of VirtueMart as well as WooCommerce. However, during the last year it became painstakingly clear that in addition to a full-time job, a young family and several other time-consuming hobbies at professional level (like being a professional singer) the plugin development and the support that it requires is not sustainable and is taking its toll. It has been an honor, but it is now time to say good bye!

Hey Reinhold,

Purchased, installed, configured as shown in the instructions. But unfortunately it did not work. The download link is not sent on the confirmation of purchase.

Can you help me?

Dear Michel,
first let's check the most common problems (you probably have them right, but let's check them, just to be sure) so that we are sure it is a deeper problem.

1) Which order statuses have you set up to allow downloads (in the custom field setup)? What is the status of the order? Does it match the configured statuses to allow downloads?
Do you have "Shipped" configured as a permitted order status (if you have the custom field configured to change the status to "Shipped" after each download, this is necessary, because otherwise the download is not allowed after the first download).

2) Do you use the default VirtueMart order statuses? Or have you configured your shop to use your own statuses? (It shouldn't matter any more, because recently I think I fixed all problems with non-standard statuses, which another customer encountered).

3) Did you set up the custom field to display the download link in the invoice/confirmation mail?
Is the link displayed in the PDF invoice? Is it displayed in the order details view in the Browser? Is it displayed on the Product page?


Do you have a public test page, where I can see the problem myself? (Of course, access to the VM/Joomla backend would help even more, but a link to a current order with a downloadable product would already help a lot).

Answering...

Confirmed and shipped are both allowed. See attach.

Not modified the code, just translate the titles of situations. "confirmado" means "confirmed", "enviado" means "shipped". See attach.

3) Did you set up the custom field to display the download link in the invoice/confirmation mail? Yes, and this is my problem. See attach.

Is the link displayed in the PDF invoice? No

Is it displayed in the order details view in the Browser? Is it displayed on the Product page? No, set to not display.

More, link to all downloads page are working ok. My only problem is the link not going in confirmation message.

I think I found the issue.

If the product is purchased within the page with product details, the link will follow confirmation message correctly. However, if the customer click on add to cart from the product list (category view) there will not link in the message.

Any ideas?
