IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Plugin development ceased, all plugins made available freely (GPL)

With great sadness we have to announce that we are ceasing development of all our VirtueMart, WooCommerce and Joomla plugins. Effective immediately, all our plugins -- even those that were paid downloads -- are made available for free from our homepage (GPL license still applies), but we cannot and will not provide any support anymore.

It has been a great pleasure to be part of the thriving development communities of VirtueMart as well as WooCommerce. However, during the last year it became painstakingly clear that in addition to a full-time job, a young family and several other time-consuming hobbies at professional level (like being a professional singer) the plugin development and the support that it requires is not sustainable and is taking its toll. It has been an honor, but it is now time to say good bye!

Hi

I am trying oveer a week now to create a simple rule but no luck.
I don't know what i am doing wrong.

I wont any order wheight up to 2kg to cost 2.40 and every extra kg to cost 0.90

For example if my order wheight 3kg the customer mast pay 2.40 for the
first 2kg plus 0.90 for the extra 1kg, total 3,30

How i can do that?
Please help.

Thank you.

You have to write two rules, one for weights up to 2kg and one for heavier orders:
Name="Weight up to 2kg"; Weight<=2; Shipping=2.40
Name="Heavier orders"; Weight>2; Shipping=2.40+0.90*ceil(Weight-2)

Notice, however, that the use of formulas in the heavy orders rule requires the paid version of the plugin and cannot be done easily in the free version.

Best regards,
Reinhold

Thank you for your reply..

The ceil why it is used for?

shimple shipment rule 05 May 2014 22:51 #4

ceil (short for "ceiling") rounds the weight up to the next full kg. As an example, consider an order with 2.3kg. The first 2kg have shipping cost 2.40, and the remaining 0.3kg is one additional kg (0.3 rounded up to the next whole number!) and thus gives 0.90 cent extra.

Without the ceil, the remaining 0.3kg would give 0.3*0.90 = 0.27€, i.e. 27 cent.

Best regards,
Reinhold
