IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Plugin development ceased, all plugins made available freely (GPL)

With great sadness we have to announce that we are ceasing development of all our VirtueMart, WooCommerce and Joomla plugins. Effective immediately, all our plugins -- even those that were paid downloads -- are made available for free from our homepage (GPL license still applies), but we cannot and will not provide any support anymore.

It has been a great pleasure to be part of the thriving development communities of VirtueMart as well as WooCommerce. However, during the last year it became painstakingly clear that in addition to a full-time job, a young family and several other time-consuming hobbies at professional level (like being a professional singer) the plugin development and the support that it requires is not sustainable and is taking its toll. It has been an honor, but it is now time to say good bye!

Hi,

I would like to setup shipping by rules so that only certain methods are available on particular days of the week. i.e.

only offer a Saturday/Sunday delivery on a Friday.
or only offer Next Day delivery on a weekday excluding Friday

Is that possible? and how would i go about setting it up. Would I need multiple shipping methods for each option?

Dear Eliot,
You can use the date/time variables (www.open-tools.net/documentation/shippin...emart.html#variables) in your conditions, e.g.

Weekend shipping method:
    weekday==4 OR (weekday==5 AND Hour<12); Shipping=100

Next day delivery method:
    1<=weekday<=4; Hour<12; Shipping=100

Please note, however, that VM / Joomla does some caching of selected shipping rates, so there might be orders that are started before noon, but are finished a bit after noon. In most cases, VM evaluates the shipping cost again during the checkout, and realizes the rate is no longer offered, but Joomla also allows several caching plugins, which might interfere with that and still cache the old shipping costs.


VM allows each shipping method to offer at most one rate. So if you want to let your customer select from multiple rates, you'll need to set up one shipping method for each choice you want to give your customer.
